Wat Hatyai Nai (Wat Mahattamangkalaram) is probably the most famous of the temples in Hatyai, and is especially popular with visitors for its large reclining Buddha statue, known as Phra Phuttamahattamongkol (the venerable Great Auspicious Buddha). At 35m it is reputed to be one of the longest in the world. But it has other interesting shrines and buildings also, not all of which were open when we visited. It is less than 3km from the central Lee Gardens Centre.
