The Sīma

The sīma, or monastic convocation hall, is by far the largest building in the temple, having a Mt Meru type structure, rising up into the sky. The sīma is on two floors, around the bottom floor are Life of the Buddha carvings on the doors and windows. These continue upstairs on the doors and windows of the main hall.

The Disciples Hall

There is a large hall with statues of the Buddha’s main disciples, including the first disciples and other well-known ones. I have arranged them here in chronological order of ordination so that they can easily be found, but I have not included all of them, only the most important.

Other Sights and Buildings

There are many other sights around which include free-standing statues, a bell-tower, a Chinese Shrine, and a Buddha Hall, a days of the week shrine, and others.
